My Signature Flower - "The Fairy Wings"

Today after a long wait I introduce you my own Signature Quilled Flower. Me and my sister Gayatri thought of a name and we named it "The Fairy Wings" Flower... I hope you like it.

We all must have heard of Christopher Columbus Discovery America Story. On his voyage to find a shortcut to India he accidentally discovered America.

My flower has almost the same story...

When I had just started quilling I never knew about so many blogs, Indian Quilling group and so many techniques related to quilling.

I just used to google and see the pictures ... While googling one day I just saw this PIC and was amazed by the Leaves. I just wondered how these were made ... I was so bad at blogging that I didn't even think of going through the blog post ...

I kept searching for more such images ... I dont exactly remember, but somehow I knew that its being done using a comb...

Then one day I just cleaned my comb, dried it  and  sat down, just rolling the the paper in my comb from one teeth to another ... It didn't turn out like the one which I wanted ... Was disappointed for a while ...Then I simply started playing with the papers and suddenly thought of locking one set inside another.

Seemed silly to me , but then I was just playing... However it turned out to be good ... I didn't have good quality papers during those days ... All I had with me, was a Slotted tool gifted by my sister Gayatri.

The concept was good but the finishing was not proper ... One day when I went Bangalore to visit my family, my sister saw my flowers and liked them ...

Then after few months my sister sent me a number of quilling tools ... A quilling board, quilling crimper,  quilling comb, straight and curved tip tweezers , quilling coach and a bunch of quilling strips ... I was sooo happy ... I don't have the exact words to express it ...

I prepared lot of cards... Then one day my sister insisted me to post these flowers and asked me to give them a name  as it seemed unique...

I had never tried them again after that... But then I tried and made them again... thought of a name... opened this blog... my sister designed my blogs, watermarks etc. ...

But then again I thought it should be special... I didn't want to introduce it just like that...

Then I waited for this special day ... May 12th My sister's marraige anniversary ... Also I knew she liked this 3D Pop Up heart originally introduced by Creative Pop Up Cards.

So I first prepared this 3D pop up card and then the tiny little Fairy Wings flower ... It had been an awesome experience while gifting it to my sister ... A memorable day... :)
